Let's face it, this last year has been tough on us all. Everything has been closed for ages and suddenly we had to delve into the unknown world of being virtual. In the blink of an eye we went from having face to face classes and meetings to doing everything from our living rooms. Now with everything slowly starting to re open, are we really ready to return to face to face classes?
Fitness is an extrememly beneficial thing, not only for keeping our physical body in good condition, but it also is so important when it comes to our mental health. While working out, our bodies naturally produce endorphins which help to boost our mood and naturally make ourselves feel better, and who doesn't love that feeling. Over the past year it has been hard to find ways to stay active and incorporate fitness into our lives, and I'll be honest I've not found it easy. No matter whether it is as simple as going for a walk or doing a full workout the options are vast, and with things opening up again there are even more options than before. During the pandemic, we have found so many inventive ways of staying active, that we couldn't have imagined. One of my personal favourites has been using bottles of wine for weights. What's not to love.
As a fitness instructor I have found it hard to make virtual classes the best experience they can be. Teaching on Zoom has been hard, it's taken away the human contact side of classes, and with the return of face to face classes next month I can't wait to see all my clients in person again.
I will be honest when I say I am nervous about returning to teaching in person. Things are going to be a lot different and that does fighten me a bit. It's a challenge I have to overcome, but if you're like me and you're feeling nervous then do not worry. There are many instructors out there who are now offering a blended approach to classes, streaming their face to face classes on zoom, so you can still workout from the comfort of your own home.
No matter whether you are buzzing to return to classes, or whether you'd rather stay at home on zoom, keep working out and continue to feel the great joy that fitness brings to you.
And for now I leave you with this;
